A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Department of Financial Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna and the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was signed on 12th of November 2022 (Saturday) in the boardroom of the University of Jaffna. Memorandum of Understanding was duly endorsed by three representatives from University of Jaffna and CSE. On behalf of University of Jaffna, Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah, The Vice Chancellor, University of Jaffna, Prof. B. Nimalathasan, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Prof. (Mrs). R. Yogendrarajah, Head, Department of Financial Management and at the same time, Mr. Rajeeva Bandaranaike, Chief Executive Officer, CSE, Mrs. Renu Ranatunge, Head of Legal, CSE, Mr. S.Sabananthan, Manger – Jaffna Branch, CSE have signed to represent CSE.
As part of the MOU, CSE agreed to bear an annual cost up to Two Hundred Thousand (Rs. 200,000.00) for the capital market related events which organize by the FMG and CSE, to grant an award for the student who obtained the highest score in the Grade Point Average (“GPA”) in the Financial Management Honours degree programme a CSE and to provide internship opportunities for the selected students based on availability of the vacancies. The Department of Financial Management agreed to encourage the capital market education at by advertising and promoting the Advanced Diploma in Financial Markets (ADFM) conducted by the CSE. The parties will collaborate on capital market research with the focus of developing and promoting capital market activities at the CSE. It may include sharing expertise knowledge in capital markets, capital market data and strengthening the investors at the CSE at the discretion of the parties.
