Stakeholder Discussion to Commence Diploma in Entrepreneurial Finance

A stakeholder discussion was arranged by the Department of Financial Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna on 31st of July 2023 at 9.30 a.m in virtual mode to commence new program of Diploma in Entrepreneurial Finance. The particular program has been planned to introduced by the Department of Financial Management, University of Jaffna in collaboration with the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in English medium with module structure. The intended aim of the program is to assist individuals in achieving their career aspirations by providing valuable insights into entrepreneurial finance. Initially, Prof. (Mrs). L. Kengatharan, Head, Department of Financial Management, University of Jaffna commenced the event by welcoming all participants. Then, Faculty remarks were addressed by Snr. Prof. B. Nimalathasan, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna. Next, Department note was given by Prof. (Mrs). L. Kengatharan and CSE note was presented by Mr. Tharaka, Manager/ Investor Education Unit, CSE. After that, Dr. (Mrs). S. Balagobei, Senior Lecturer, Department of Financial Management explained the Proposed Diploma Program in Entrepreneurial Finance. Then, Discussion among the participants regarding commencement of program was started, senior academics from other universities and industrial experts revealed their fruitful inputs to develop curriculum for the Diploma in Entrepreneurial Finance. Prof. (Mrs). R. Yogendrarajah, Professor in Financial Management, Department of Financial Management served as moderator of the discussion. Finally, the discussion was successfully concluded.
