A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Department of Financial Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna, and Charted Financial Analyst Sri Lanka (CFASL) was signed on 28th June 2022 (Tuesday) at the Boardroom of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. CFASL representatives were able to participate virtually due to the prevailing economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
The Memorandum of Understanding was duly endorsed by three representatives from the University of Jaffna and two representatives from CFASL. On behalf of the University of Jaffna, Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah, The Vice-Chancellor, University of Jaffna, Prof. B. Nimalathasan, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Prof. (Mrs). R. Yogendrarajah, Head, Department of Financial Management, and at the same time, Mr. Dinesh
Warusavitharana, President, CFASL, and Mr.Nuwan Jayewardena, University Outreach Chair, CFASL have signed to represent CFASL.
As part of the MOU, both parties have agreed to mutually corporate in different areas. For instance, CFASL is to provide guest lecturers and carrier mentorship to the selected students from the Department of Financial Management who are keen to build a career in capital markets space, coordinate with its capital market industry partners to facilitate internship opportunities to the students, facilitate the participation of capital market industry experts to review the curriculum of the Department of Financial Management, to award prizes for the best performers.
