The Department of Finance, University of Colombo in collaboration with MAGNATE 2023, organized an “Inter-University Debate Competition” under the theme of “Leading with Vision, Thriving with Finance.” The primary purpose of this competition is to cultivate and enhance the interpersonal, networking, leadership, and communication aptitudes of undergraduates from various state universities.
Representing the Department of Financial Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna, two teams participated in the competition. The members of these teams were Ms. Mathi Alagan Janani Keerthana, Ms. Vithusha Rajendram, Ms. Deianira Rajan, Rathnayaka Mudiyanselage Kanchana Sangeeth Chathuranga Rathnayaka, Ms. Palle Gedara Champika Udayangani Jayawardhana, Mr. S. Lushanthan, Ms. Majurika Ranjithmanokaran, and Ms. Dilaxshana Sivakumar.
The preliminary round of the competition was held on the 7th of August 2023 in virtual means. Despite the active participation of the students in the debate competition, unfortunately, they were unable to progress to the subsequent level. Congratulation to the teams for stepping up and participating in these valuable extracurricular activities.
