As a part of the event under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chartered Financial Analyst Society Sri Lanka (CFASL), the Department of Financial Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna has intended to initiate the Undergraduate Finance Research Symposium (UFRS) 2024.
The ultimate objective of the UFRS 2024 is to provide a platform for students to share newfound insights and experiences in financial management with a broader audience including peers, academic members, and industry experts. This collaborative effort not only strengthens ties within the University of Jaffna but also fosters healthy relationships with external universities. Further, this symposium encourages participants to publish their research in peer-reviewed journals.
Initial discussion was on 19th January 2024, Friday at 11 a.m. via Zoom. The participants namely Mr.Nuwan Jayawardana, CFA Director of Investment Research, Mr.Anura Alwis, CEO of CFA Society Sri Lanka, and Ms.Sandunika Perera, Coordinator of CFA Sri Lanka representing CFA Society Sri Lanka and Juaita from CFA Society Sri Lanka and Prof (Mrs.)L.Kengatharan, Prof.(Mrs.) R.Yogendrarajah, Dr (Mrs.)S. Balagobei, Mrs.T.Pratheesh, Mrs.J.S.Dimon Ford, and Mrs.M.Gowthaman from the Department of Financial Management participated in the initial discussion.
