A Capital Market Information Centre (CMIC) was opened by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Sri Lanka at the E-lab of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna on 22nd of February 2017.
Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) is a regulator of the capital market. Therefore, It attempts to improve the financial literacy in the country through lunching CMIC in the universities in Sri Lanka. Main purpose of this centre is to offer an e- learning environment through which capital market information, along with other educational online tools would be provided to students and staff members seeking to further their understanding of the capital market for research and academic purposes as well as to upgrade their knowledge in investing. The CMIC provides quick and easy access to updated capital market information for all beneficiaries.
